I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I thought I would share some photos of ours. We were very busy going from one place to another, but it was all worth it to see everyone. Grandma and Grandpa Boege came up from Minnesota and we enjoyed spending time with them. We also spent some time with the Boege side of the family as well as the Starmer side. We pretty much made the rounds. Hard to believe that 2009 is right around the corner. Next year at Christmas I will be the mother of a 13 month old... that seems so hard to believe.

Our First Family Photo
Tonight we went to our first of 6 Christmas celebrations. Bennett was a perfect angel (much to my surprise) and we even managed to snap this great photo. I'm sure it's one of many to come. Wish I would have had it a month ago because I would have made Christmas cards with it. Unfortunetley Christmas cards were not on my priority list this year. Hope all of you have a great holiday with your families.

Happy Holidays
Hello Everyone,
I just realized it's been FOREVER since I did a post so I thought I would jot down what's been going on with us which of course means baby. I need to remember to use this as designed which is a baby book of sorts. We'll Bennett has had a rough past week, but we are hopeful that things are getting better. We discovered that he had a food allergy and was having issues digesting his food which of course made him very unhappy. As of today Bennett is much happier throughout the day, but does get fussy at night. I have read over and over again that this is babies way of releasing fatigue from the day so I am hopeful that this fussy period will pass (quickly). Of course it's always at night around 5:00 and lasts usually until 9:00. Despite all our efforts we can't seem to please him much during this time. I've read that this should get better soon and usually peeks at 6 weeks (which Bennett will be on Christmas) and gets better and better eventually stopping around 12 weeks. It's very hard to deal with when you don't know what your son wants, but I am trying to just expect it and do the best I can. Other than that we are all doing well and we are excited to spend our first Christmas as a family. Hope all is well with you and your family. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Happy Thanksgiving
Bennett got dressed for his very first Husker game. Mommy and Daddy went to the game and Bennett stayed at home with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Jenna. It was hard to leave the little guy even for a short period, but we had tickets and didn't want them to go to waste. It was good to get out, but I missed my little man like crazy!!! Thanksgiving was great and Bennett got to meet all kinds of people and was the life of the party. Even if he did sleep the whole time. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!!

Getting Big already
Everyone keeps saying to enjoy every moment because they grow up so fast and I can already see that happening. Although I am in a bit of a time warp I look at pictures of him today compared to the hospital and he is changing. Bennett is doing REALLY well overall and sleeps pretty much for 3-4 hours at a time throughout the entire day and last night slept 5 hours at night. He is eating really well and sleeping well too. Wake time varies, but he seems to have more wake time every day which I LOVE. Daddy and Grandma Boege have been home with us so that's helping immensely. Bennett has had many visitors at the hospital and at home too so thanks to all of you who have visited him. Please enjoy some of our new pictures of our baby boy!!

Bennett Jeffrey Starmer
He's Here!!!! Our baby boy was born 11/13/08 at 9:43 a.m. (my due date). My water broke at 9:30 p.m. on 11/12. I was in labor for 12+ hours where 3.5 of it I was pushing. Bennett's position was transverse meaning his head was not facing the correct direction to deliver him. We had to work very hard to re-position him to come naturally. All the hard work was well worth it after I got to see his beautiful face for the fist time. We are very excited and blessed to have him in our lives. We are all going home tomorrow and looking forward to beginning our new lives at home. Here a a few pictures with many many more to come.

Belly bump days are numbered
Hello Everyone. As tomorrow approaches I have serious doubts that baby Starmer is going to come into the world without a little help. I have a scheduled inducement on Tuesday 11/18/08 at 6:00 a.m. He still may decided to come on his own but in case he doesn't we know that he will be here next Tuesday (if all goes well). Part of me is hoping he's here before that and the other (planner) part of me is glad to have something scheduled. Either way he will be here VERY soon and I am excited, scared, nervous, anxious you name it I'm feeling it.

Aren't you done yet??
We'll I'm still pregnant, but I need to keep reminding myself that I haven't gotten to my due date quite yet so I need to be patient. It's just so hard to focus on anything else at this point other than when is he going to be here, where am I going to be, will there be enough time to GET THE DRUGS??? My next Dr's appt is Tuesday and if the baby is still not here they will schedule me to be induced the following week. Good news is that I can see the end, but still don't know when the end exactly is. Soon enough I will know and then the waiting game will be over and a whole new chapter will begin. I am looking forward to that new chapter that I have been waiting what feels like an eternity for!

Some Progress... MAYBE???
Wednesday's Dr's appointment showed some progress. Baby Starmer is moving his way down the birth canal and is sitting (stomping) on my bladder. Doesn't feel that great let me tell you.
Dilation and effacement hasn't changed much. I really hope this little man shows his face on his own without having to be induced. 13 days and counting... till the due date that is!!

This week's Dr's appointment proved to be no change:( I was hoping for some progress but no such luck. We are just waiting and anticipating the moment that I know I am in labor. At this point I would be happy if that happened today ( I think).
We officially have everything ready to go (again I think) so now it's a waiting game. I just know I'm going to be the first women who's baby doesn't come out:) That would be my luck.
Hopefully I will have new news (complete with baby pics) very soon!!!

Baby Starmer
Today I had my first "weekly" check with the Doctor. She says everything looks great and baby is on track. I am 1" dilated and 50% effaced (for those of you who are familiar with what that means). Baby is in position and the Dr said she even felt his head. I thought that was SUPER weird.
I have a whirl wind of emotions racing through me and am trying to focus on meeting my son and not the other "scary" things. I have a new found respect for the women's body and the miracle of child birth. It is truly amazing when you consider the miraculous development of a baby inside of you.

Dixie
I can't start a blog without introducing our favorite puppy! She will likely not get the attention she is use to very soon. Dixie is a great dog and we are confident that she will be great with our soon-to-be little one. She is equally excited to make use of the nursery as it seems to be her favorite room in the house.
Bronco's Game
Ok so I'm a little late with posting about the game, but better late then never. Jeff and I went to Denver last weekend to visit our good friends Jori and Ryan. It was awesome to spend some quality time with Jori as it's been a long time since we've had the opportunity to do that. We had a great time and loved the game. Jeff LOVES the bronco's and has never seen a game live. It is something that we will definitely have to do again. We hope to plan a trip next year to see Jori, Ryan ans Cael with our little one.

EXHAUSTED

So nobody told me that I was going to be exhausted in the last weeks of my pregnancy. I can't seem to get enough sleep and good thing because I'm sure I won't be getting much of any in the days ahead. Jeff and I are anxiously awaiting our little guy now that the nursery is complete. I'm scared to death to give birth, but excited to finally meet my little man. 5 more weeks to go.....

Newbe

Hello All- I am new to this "blogging" thing, but have been told it's a great way to keep in touch. With a baby on the way (due 11/13) I thought this would be a great way for my family and friends who live outside of Omaha to see what our family is up to. I am going to need some coaching along the way (Jori that's where you come in) so I can create a fun blog for all to see.
I will have to get better at taking pictures and blogging about my day, but I'm sure it will be fun! It will give me something to do in all my free time once the baby is born (ha ha).
